Biography

Stella was born in London having a famous father from the musician world. She graduated at Central St Martins in 1995. In 1997 she worked as Creative Director at Chloe in Paris. She launched her first own collection together with Gucci in Oct 2001. As a vegetarian she doesn’t want to use leather or fur in her products. The flagship Stella McCartney store is located in Mnahattan’s Meatpacking District.

Cooperations

Stella has a long term business cooperation with Adidas under the label “adidas by Stella McCartney”. In November 2005 she also launched a one time collection with H&M called “Stella McCartney for H&M” which sold out immediately globally. A cooperation with YSL Yves Saint Laurent resulted in a organic skin care line, with 100% organic ingredients.

Awards

Stella has received numerous awards such as Vogue Fashion and Music 2000 Designer of the Year, Best Designer of the Year 2004 and The Green Designer of the Year at the ACE Awards 2008 in NY.
