The Italian shoe designer Salvatore Ferragamo opened the first boot shop 1923 in Boulevard Las Vegas, Hollywood. The company was founded a few years later in Florence 1928 and is today managed by the third generation.

About Salvatore Ferragamo

Salvatore Ferragamo was born in 1898 in Bonito as numer eleven of 14 children. Making a pair of shoes at the age of nine for his sisters confirmation light a passion that would later become his life commitment.

A Salvatore Ferragamo Museum containing more than ten thousand models of shoes and information about the company history opened 1995 in Florence, Italy.

1. Wear a new par of shoes a few hours per day, until you can wear them all day.
2. Never wear one pair of shoes two days in a row.
3. Use shoehorn.
4. Loosen laces completely when slipping the shoes off.
5. Insert made-to-measure shoetrees when shoes are taken off.
6. Shoetrees should also be used for a day to let shoes dry from rain.
7. Clean and polish shoes every time after wearing them, even if they appear clean.
8. If a pair of shoes are put in to the closet, put on some shoe polish before and put them in a cloth sack.
