Missoni – Italian colourful wave striped luxury knitwear

The Italian fashion brand Missoni, famous for the colourful and fashionable knitwear, was founded in Milan in 1953. The ready-to-wear collections are known by the zigzag waved stripes or geometric floral patterns. The fashion has been called “museum pieces that you can however wear” and the scarfs are probably the most famous piece in the collections.

About Missoni

The founders and married couple Tai and Rosita Missoni started producing the knitwear in the basemen in their first home in Gallarate, Italy. The company then moved to the current office in Sumirago. Their three children grew up with the company and have all taken big responsibilities in the business positive development and renaissance recent years. Vittorio is today marketing responsible, Luca manages knitwear and Angela is the creative director of women wear. Missoni opened a store on Madison Avenue in New York in 1984 and also have stores in other large fashion cities such as Paris and Milan.
