History of Manolo Blahnik

Manolo Blahnik was born on the Canary Islands and moved to Paris in 1965 after studies in languages and art in Geneva. He learnt the art of shoe design from visits in shoe machine factories. In 1973 he opened his first shoe shop in London. According to the craftsman Blahnik shoes help transform a woman. Since then Blahnik has received many awards during the years from for example the British Fashion Council in 1990, 1999 and 2003.
