About Lindex -- from founders in the old days to today’s growing business

The company was originally a lingerie shop founded in Alingsås, Sweden, in the 1950’s by Ingemar Boman and Bengt Rosell.

Lindex expands to Norway in the 1960’s and Lindex is one of the first fashion companies to open several shops across Sweden.

The jeans sales grow heavy during the 1970’s and the great expansion cross boarders to Denmark, United Kingdom and Finland took place during the 1980’s.

A CSR focus is implemented in the company processes and production in Hong Kong ten years later when a customer club is also launched. 

Since then Lindex has expanded even further into the Czech Republic, Central Europe, Baltic Region, Russia and the Middle East. Emma Wiklund, former Swedish top model, has also taken a great role in positioning the brand on the global market.

In 2007 the Lindex Fashion House was acquired by Stockmann, a listed company in Finland.

Caroline Winberg, world famous Swedish model, is the front person for Lindex today in commercials.
