About FENDI

FENDI was founded in 1925 in Rome, Italy, when a handbag shop opened and quickly became a success. The company started as a family business by Edoardo and Adele Fendi. In 1946 the five daughters began working for the company bringing new energy to the ideas and development. The FENDI bag is known for its elegance, innovation and style while keeping the practical features. The printed and woven leather handbags has become the brands signature.

The prête-a-porter collections including gloves, sunglasses, ties, jeans and home furnishing was launched in 1977. In 1997 the successful handbag modelcalled the baguette was created, that has been sold in more than 600 versions. Since then the Spy bag and B Fendi bags has become classics since the launch in 2005-2006.

FENDI was historically a part of the Prada Group. In 2001 the LVMH Group acquired the Prada shares in the company and in 2004 the group had majority shares in FENDI. The FENDI headquarters moved to the Palazzo FENDI in Rome in 2005 where the largest store in the world also is located.
