The company was originally founded in 1972 and re-launched in 1997. Diane has partnered with H. Stern to diversify the line with a fine jewelry collection. The headquarter is located in New York City and shops are opened worldwide in major cities such as Los Angeles, Miami, London, Paris, Moscow, Hong Kong, Jakarta, New York and Tokyo. The collections are also available in select retail stores globally. The famous iconic wrap dress style has sold in millions of samples. The dress came to symbolize female power to a generation.
